Green Room Cafe, Stoke Newington
Our wedding party in London will take place at the Green Room Cafe on Stoke Newington Church Street in Hackney. It sits on the heart of Stoke Newington with Clissold Park and Abney Park right on the doorstep. The area partly gives a village-feel with churches, local grocers, mums with a stroller, dog walkers and farm animals. Stoke Newington is our first home ground before we began living together in Japan four years ago. Finally after a long wait through the worldwide pandemic, we will be back in the neighbourhood this summer to reconnect and explore where our future takes. Please join us to celebrate and have fun as we step into our adventure. Family and partners are welcome!
Enjoy the afternoon with late lunch and fun activities we have planned for you, followed by a ceremony together with friends and guests you meet on the day. Although we would love to have you around and spend the whole afternoon with us, feel free to drop in and out whenever you need to.

14:00-14:30We will begin with a welcome drink and some nibbles, a few words from father of the bride (via online) and toast to a fun afternoon!

14:30-15:30Enjoy a late lunch with a spread of wholesome salads and baked goodies in the garden

15:30-15:45A short presentation to talk about our journey since living in Japan and what we are up to these days.

15:45-16:30Based on personal stories and experiences, we will ask our guests to write and share their words of wisdom.

16:30-17:00A selection of cakes will be served with tea and coffee.

ceremony
17:00-18:00We will begin by singing a song together followed by a couple of speeches, reading of the vows and exchange of rings.

after-party
18:00-20:00We will book a couple of tables at a nearby pub (tbc) for late-comers and anyone who wishes to chat and drink more.
Since the wedding party will take place in a casual setting with half of the cafe operating as usual, feel free to come in jeans and trainers, or wear anything you feel comfortable in. We will be wearing a dress and a shirt for the occasion, but not need for you to dress up too. Of course, we also welcome guests to put on their fancy dresses if they wish to! We will be outside in the garden, so bring a layer or two to keep warm.

The Green Room Cafe is located on Stoke Newington Church Street, just a few minutes’ walk from Abney Park and Clissold Park. Enter via the flower shop and walk through the cafe and out onto the garden. There is no car park in the premises and limited car park is available in the area. We recommend getting here by public transport / cab. The nearest station is Stoke Newington (London Overground), about 10 minutes’ walk away. Buses 73, 393 and 476 is 1-minute walk from the cafe (bus stop: Abney Park).
